Now that the Attorney Review and Inspection (A/I) period has concluded, it’s time to officially set the closing date on your calendar! In New York City, sellers typically do not attend closing. Instead, your attorney will handle most of the closing logistics on your behalf.
Pre-Signing the Documents
A few days before the closing date, your attorney will arrange a pre-signing session where you’ll sign all the necessary documents ahead of time. It’s important to reach out to your attorney about a week before closing to schedule a convenient time for pre-signing. This allows everything to be finalized before the closing day, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
Attending Closing
If you prefer to attend the closing in person and sign the documents at the closing table, that’s absolutely fine! Just let us know in advance, and we can make sure the arrangements are in place. While many sellers prefer to pre-sign and avoid attending closing, the choice is yours!
